🐾About PokéDogs🐾
PokéDogs is a planned For-Charity A5 Physical Zine with accompanying Physical Merchandise (merch). The zine is centered around dog and canine-themed Pokemon from the titular franchise of the same name. All Pokemon that have been inspired by species classified under the Caninae Subfamily have the possibility of showing up within the zine. For the sake of organization and simplicity, some Pokemon that are not dog-inspired but are classified within a dog-like group (Raikou, Espeon, etc) will be permitted within the zine.This is a SFW zine and rated E for Everyone, as such like main line Pokemon games. No explicit or offensive content has any place within this zine. However, expressions of pride, such as pronoun buttons, pride buttons/flags, and other pride-related materials will be permitted based on Mod discretion. Romantic content, such as kissing and flirting, will be kept to a minimum, as the focus is supposed to be on dog-themed Pokemon.Pokemon contained within the zine and types of merchandise created will be determined later based on Interest Check feedback and contributor interest.

General Requirements
-Must be 13 years of age or older
-Must have a valid portfolio showcasing your best work
-A portfolio can be a website, carrd, Google Drive Link, AO3 (writers), ArtStation/DeviantArt (artists), or dedicated social media.
-Your portfolio must be accessible and viewable without the need to request access or enter a password. If we cannot view your portfolio or we have to sift through unapplicable posts in order to see your art or writing, you will not be considered.
-Must provide 3 best pieces that show off your style and skill level
-NO NSFW. Please consult our NSFW Definition Guide to see what we consider NSFW.
-Pokemon art/writing is NOT REQUIRED, but it is HIGHLY encouraged! If you do not have Pokemon art/writing, non-human animal art/writing also suffices!
Page/Cover Artist(s)
-Portfolio should show completed pieces of artwork
-Some pieces should have completed backgrounds
-Page/Cover Artists will be judge based on anatomy, color theory, composition, and overall look.
Merch Artists
-Portfolio should show completed pieces of artwork
-Physical merch examples are appreciated but NOT required. Mock-ups are also greatly appreciated!
-Some pieces of artwork should reflect the type of merch you want to create (ex. character will strong sihlouette and no background if you wish to create a die-cut sticker.
-Merch Artists will be judged on anatomy, color theory, and other aspects, such as composition and silhouette based on preferred types of merch.
Writers
-Portfolio should consist of completed pieces of writing. Separate chapters that tell a full story within a larger story also suffice.
-At least one example should pertain to the type of writing you wish to create (a poetry example for a poem, a character introduction for a PokeDex or Adoption Listing, etc.)
-Examples should be no more than 6,000 words long.
-Samples are allowed, but must provide context.
-Writers will be judged based on story-telling, writing style, grammar and punctuation, and character portrayal/development.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
Cover Artist
-Must create a full spread piece at NO LESS than 300dpi to serve as the cover for the zine
-Work in collaboration with Mod Nisnow to ensure proper room the logo and formatting purposes
-Must be comfortable/willing to draw multiple characters
-Must follow proper formatting guidelines
Page Artist
-Must be willing to create at least ONE (1) COMPLETED piece of artwork consisting of the assigned Pokemon/Pokemon line and a finished, cohesive background
-Must be able to create a piece of artwork that is AT LEAST A5 (5-7/8 in x 8-1/4 in) in size at NO LESS than 300dpi.
-Traditional Artists must be able to present a HIGH QUALITY scan of their artwork.
-Must follow proper formatting guidelines
Merch Artist
-Must be willing to create at least ONE (1) COMPLETED piece of artwork featuring assigned Pokemon/Pokemon Line to be turned into merchandise
-Assigned number of pieces varies depending on assigned merch type
-Must be able to create a piece of artwork in the PROPER specs needed for the assigned type of merch at NO LESS than 300dpi.
-Must follow proper formatting guidelines
Short Fiction Writer
-Must create a complete work of fiction NO MORE than 2,500 words (5-6 pages) based on assigned prompt
-Pieces must have proper grammar and spelling
-Must follow proper formatting guidelines
Poet
-Must create a complete poem NOT exceeding two pages based on assigned prompt
-Piece must have proper grammar and spelling
-Must follow proper formatting guidelines
PokeDex Entry Writer
-Must create at least ONE (1) complete piece NOT exceeding ONE page based on assigned Pokemon
-Must not interfere with canonical Pokemon lore
-Piece must have proper grammar and spelling

Adoption Listing Writer
-Must create at least ONE (1) completed piece NOT exceeding ONE page based on assigned Pokemon
-Piece must have proper Grammar and spelling

Article Writer
-Must create at least ONE (1) completed piece NOT exceeding TWO pages based on assigned prompt
-Piece must have proper Grammar and spelling
-Must follow proper formatting guidelines
DEFINITION OF NSFW CONTENT
-Any work that contains any nudity, including artistic and tasteful nudity. Nude, humanoid bodies without nipples or genitalia present are permitted.
-Sexually charged artwork. If a piece is intended to be seen in a sexual manner with copious amounts of skin showing, nipple and genital protrusions, or full blown sexual acts, it should not be included.
-Excessive gore and violence. If a piece depicts acts of violence and copious amounts of gore and blood, they will not be permitted. If a piece contains a minimal amount of blood (a minor wound, a bit of blood running from the mouth, etc), those are allowed.
-Bigotry and hatred towards ANY party in a piece. If a piece contains slanderous words, hateful remarks, slurs, or any words with a perceived negative connotation towards another REAL LIFE party, it should not be permitted. Items promoting pride (buttons, flags, patches, etc) will be permitted within the zine based on Mod discretion.They should not be a focal point, but a human character is more than welcome to wear a pronoun pin or have a Non-Binary pride flag hanging up in their room.Pieces that are marked with a "Mature Content" warning on a website will be permitted. We really hate to make someone take down a piece for one zine and go through the hassle of uploading it again. If possible, we would greatly appreciate it if one could hide those pieces (some websites have the option of removing a piece from public view but still keeping it in the portfolio), but it is not required.
